Education Enrichment
“Coming in 2009: Accelerated Math, Battle of the Books,
and Quiz Bowl”
At
St. Mary's School, we believe that educating a child is more
than just providing the basics. Each year, our Education
Enrichment Committee arranges for enrichment programs to be
brought to St. Mary's School. Enrichment programs are things
such as activities with a NASA Astronomer and with the Cranbrook
Institute of Arts. Committed parents have volunteered their time
to bring the "First Move" Chess program for math enrichment. The
"St. Mary's Piggy Bank," a school run bank, was founded this
year with the assistance of Seaway Bank. Additional enrichment
activities include, but are not limited to:
-
Pro-Solve Math Program
-
Accelerated Reader Program
-
Eagle Village Leadership Camp
-
Yearbook
-
Forensic Interpretive Reading
-
Learning Fair
-
8th Grade Trip to Washington D.C.
-
3rd Grade Trips to the State Capitol and the Rouge River
Plant
-
St. Clair County Science fair
-
Academic
Olympics
-
Robotics
Additionally, each class from preschool through 8th grade
participate in a variety of field trips planned by teachers to
compliment their curriculum.
